Upon Lake County, IL, receiving a Local Siting Application from a firm for a municipal solid waste transfer station, GBB was tasked with conducting a pre-filing review of the material submitted to the County. As part of the process, GBB reviewed and provided written comments on the siting application materials received to identify deficiencies in the proposed application and resolve issues with the applicant prior to the official filing of the application. In conducting the pre-filing review, GBB referred to the Lake County Siting Ordinance, Illinois regulations for transfer stations, and the Illinois Environmental Protection Act.
