Regional Feedstock Analysis / Food Waste Processing Facility Feasibility Study (Confidential Client)
A confidential private-sector developer retained GBB to prepare a rigorous, third-party, independent consultant project feasibility report for an organics/food waste processing facility. The final report analyzed and discussed critical project assumptions, contracts, designs, economic pro forma, and project plans for reasonableness. The availability of food waste feedstock was addressed, along with a plan to acquire sufficient feedstock at a price that supports the project’s pro forma assumptions and the regional competitive market for such feedstock.
As part of the assignment, the GBB team:
- Reviewed the firm’s business and feedstock acquisition plans.
- Reviewed the firm’s technical design basis to ensure an understanding of its feedstock requirements.
- Conducted research regarding feedstock generation within a 25-mile radius of the project site.
- Researched and documented food waste recycling policies and regulations in the region that could create demand for food waste recycling capacity services.
- Reviewed plans for the installation of a satellite feedstock pre-processing site.
- Researched and compiled a list of permitted solid waste management facilities within 25 miles of the project at which satellite pre-processing facilities might be hosted.
- Researched and documented the capacity of competing announced, permitted, and operating food waste recycling facilities.
- Researched and documented the published food waste tipping fees of competing facilities.
- Produced a Technical Memorandum.
