GBB was selected to assist Tulane University with the procurement of trash and recycling collection services for its Uptown campus in New Orleans, LA. The GBB Project Team initially visited the campus to assess the current system. Working closely with operations, sustainability, and executive staff, GBB led the entire procurement process, including creating the Request for Proposals document, evaluating proposals, and recommending and selecting a contractor to empower the University to achieve its dual goals of increased recycling and decreased collection costs.

As part of the procurement project, GBB also prepared a five-year solid waste management plan for the University. The plan, which coincided with contracting a new trash and recyclables collection service, included tools and goals to increase recycling and other waste diversion on the Uptown Campus and a planning structure for continuous improvement.
