As a new administration readies to enter the White House, Corinne Rico (GBB Senior Project Manager), Ricky Phillips (GBB Consultant II) and Ashlea Smith (GBB Marketing Manager and Consultant) urge the federal government to join our nation’s solid waste and environmental professionals to inspire the country’s fight against climate change and promote equitable communities and a resilient economy.
While we face significant challenges, ambitious and innovative strategies must be implemented to catalyze a circular economy. Policies and incentives can be put in place to prevent waste while adding real value for reuse and recovery. The solid waste industry, with the leadership of the new administration, must do what is necessary to stem the ever-increasing tide of solid waste to positively contribute to a sustainable and resilient future.
