Tom
Reardon Elected Vice Director of SWANA's Waste-to-Energy Technical Division |
Tom
Reardon, GBB Vice President, was elected Vice Director of SWANA's
Waste-to-Energy (WTE) Technical Division. The Division has a number of key
programs and products to accomplish its goal of ensuring that this technology,
and other emerging waste combustion technologies, are recognized for what they
are - some of the cleanest and most responsible forms of waste management. The
Division provides industry professionals with the information and professional
contacts they need to improve their plant operations while encouraging
innovation to enhance WTE's role as a viable option for solid waste management
and an expanded source for clean, reliable, and renewable power.
As Vice Director, Mr. Reardon is a member of the Division's Executive Committee
and Steering Committee. Key responsibilities, in addition to contributing to
meetings and quarterly teleconferences, include assisting Director Chantal
Babensee (Residuals Management Division Manager, Metro Vancouver, BC, Canada) in
fulfilling her duties, and mentoring Committee Chairs in completion of their
duties. When his term expires, Mr. Reardon will advance into the position of
Division Director (with approval of a majority of the Division Steering
Committee) for a term of two years.
"In the past few years, I've moderated WTE-related sessions and made
presentations on the latest on WTE and Conversion Technologies at various
events, including WASTECON and SWANA's Senior Executive Seminar," said Reardon.
"I am honored and excited at the prospect of working closely with the Division
Director in advancing and expanding the division's program."
