The Wasatch Integrated Waste Management District (WIWMD), in Layton, Utah, recently published a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Mixed Waste Processing Facility Design/Build from 30 percent Basis of Design Report. The award from this RFP is expected to result in a Design‐Builder Contract for the continued development of a Cost Reimbursed, Guaranteed Maximum Price turn key Mixed Waste Processing Facility with the capacity to process approximately 112,500 tons per year of Municipal Solid Waste. Services expected by the WIWMD from the selected firm are design and engineering, equipment procurement, construction, start‐up and performance testing, on‐going technical support to District staff, and responsibility for stated warranties on structures and new equipment including performance guarantees. GBB will be serving as the Owners Engineer for the WIWMD for the project.
