Disaster Debris Management Planning – A Community’s Best Defense

Disaster DebrisA Debris Management Plan is a written document that establishes procedures and guidelines for managing disaster debris in a coordinated, environmentally-responsible, and cost-effective manner. Having such a plan allows to respond and resume operations quickly; return the community to a working state of normalcy as soon as possible; reduce the impact to the environment; ensure effective use of resources; and comply with local, state and federal regulations.

In the winter 2017-18 edition of the GBB Waste Outlook newsletter, GBB Senior Vice President Lori Scozzafava highlights the key elements of a debris management plan.
